Can it export .hlx (Helix) preset files?
Yes! With a Standard subscription, you can download your presets in .hlx (Helix) format and use them directly on your device.
Can I change a preset after it's generated?
Yes. Every preset opens in a chat, so you can keep refining it. Ask for changes in plain language and ToneBuilder updates the effects and parameters until the tone is exactly right.
Can I restore an earlier version of a preset?
Yes. Every refinement creates a new version, and you can restore any earlier one from the chat at any time.
Can I share my presets?
Yes. With a Standard subscription, you can make any finished preset public. It shows on Discover under your username. Your chat stays private, and you can make the preset private again at any time.
Can I use presets other users made?
Yes. Any signed-in user can browse Discover for free and see each preset's effect chain. With a Standard subscription, you can see its settings, download it, upvote it, or copy it into your own chat to edit.
How many free messages do I get?
A free account includes 3 messages total. With a Standard subscription, send as many as you want.
How many effect blocks per preset does it support?
Currently up to 8 effect blocks per preset. We plan to make this dynamic so that the maximum adapts to your specific Line 6 Helix device.
Does it support parallel or dual signal paths?
Not at the moment. If you ask for one, ToneBuilder builds the closest single-path version and tells you what it approximated, so you can keep refining from there.
Does it support snapshots?
Not at the moment. Versions fill that role today: ToneBuilder builds the closest single tone, each refinement becomes a new version, and you can restore any of them from the chat.
Does it support Agoura amps?
Not at the moment. Agoura is a new modeling methodology exclusive to the Helix Stadium and is not yet supported.
